The city of hot springs. Um Qeis as it was also known reached its peek during Greco Roman times. Lots of churches, theatres, colonnaded streets, baths and tombs.

It is here that you can read the original inscription - "To you I say,  passer by -: As you are I was; as I am; you will be; use life as a mortal".
